The OpsLogix Intelligent Network Management Pack is capable of complete component integrated monitoring, in order to do this individual components need to be certified. The list of OpsLogix certified devices is extensive. If a specific device is not yet certified, OpsLogix can add and certify the OID by means of a SNMPwalk.

SNMPDeviceCaptureTool.exe

This tool is used to create a XML dump file of a network device. Basically it does a SNMPwalk of the device which queries every OID and writes the information in a XML file. This dump file is XML based and can be used in a simulator to simulate the device for supporting purposes.

It requires the following information:

  • First make sure the server you are running the dump tool on has SNMP Access to the network device.
  • Extract the SNMPDeviceCaptureTool.exe to a folder C:\Dumps\
  • Open an elevated command prompt.
    Start\All Programs\Accessories\Command Prompt
  • Right click and select “Run as Administrator
